After the amazing inventions by google like the self driving cars, health wearable and the cheetah robot, Google is come up with something even better. This is the latest interaction sensor that resulted from the Google’s project Soli. What can you do with it? You could literally operate any device without having to touch it. It is very accurate and precise, every gesture is captured within a flash of a second and converted into motion. Although, the device needs to be connected to it, which is an obvious thing.
Project Soli: How does it work?
The interaction of the sensors is via the radar technology. Even motions of the fingers are effectively captured up till ten thousand frames/second. It is very handy as it can only approximate to the size of a miniature computer chip. Activities as small as controlling the volume of the speaker can be easily performed without having to touch the device. Seems like dirty hands will no longer be a problem. This technology works smoothly with many smart devices like touch pads, smart phones and watches et cetera. This chip like gesture radar can capture even the toughest of the hand movements at a close proximity. However, efforts continue to improvise this device for distant ranges. The hand gestures are duplicated at an astounding hyper velocity. The size of the chip has an added advantage, it can be fit into any device. A typical example of the saying that goes like “Great things come in small packages”. All thanks to Google, the technology is crossing the borders of touch to something even more convenient.
