Ever since Wi-Fi has gone Fi, it has been a lot in the news. For those who are not aware, we are talking about Google’s project Fi which initially offered to provide a more reliable mobile data carrier service at better speeds and even better rates. For the project Fi fans here is a great news! Read on!
Before we move on to the great news let us just understand its working in detail.
It involves a dedicated SIM card along with a tiny software which can authenticate your phone on T mobile and Sprint as well. Your network will keep switching between them based on a couple of details/factors. For calls, real timing and texts it can use Wi-Fi. Your phone will be automatically connected to open Wi-Fi spots where the mobile connectivity is weak thereby providing a much more reliable Internet network.

You might already know that both T-mobile and Sprint are not a connection provider in the middle east. The service was for long available for only some versions of Nexus phones. Nexus 5X, Nexus 6 and Nexus 6p to be precise.
You need to request for an invite and only when your request is selected you get to become a part of the Project Fi.
However, the Project Fi is now available internationally in 120 countries at no additional charges, but it can only be considered as a good news for the American’s on roaming.
The Billing
Project Fi, cannot be considered as the lowest charging network provider, but for the fluent connectivity that it has to offer, the price is quite legitimate. $20 a month for unlimited talking and texting and a GB of data at $10 is very attractive. You simply need to decide how much data you will require and then pay for it, by the end of the month you will even get back the money for your data balance(data that has not been used). Even when T-mobile or Sprint won’t work well, Project Fi does, as it automatically switches you to a nearby hotspot, as a matter of fact that is when Project Fi, works the best. It can cut a lot of your mobile bills down.
Now, the much awaited news…
Great News!
If you do not have an Invite, you can still become a Part of Project Fi. You do no need a Nexus though. So, if you are curious to try it out, go ahead give a shot. It’s also been on the news that Google is giving a special promotion on Nexus 5X on signing up for the service next month.
Google has taken its first initiative to make it available for a larger crowd. Let us hope for Project Fi to expand its target Audience. There is another great news too…
