It is said to show more accurate suggestions and results. It lists not only the posts and updates from your friend list, but also the otherwise. Now, the wow factor is- it can also suggest and display post’s from other social media accounts and business pages as well.
The vice president of Facebook, Tom stocky said in a press release that the updated search facility provides the user’s with insights on what others have to state about a certain topic, apart from people in their friend’s list. He, also said that this enhanced search feature uses technicalities that are same as that of the “Trending topics feature ” and it will substantially contribute to making Facebook a search engine for news.
Facebook says that the changes can be clearly felt by the users. They assure that the user’s will find more personalized and apt suggestions. Additionally, statuses, phrases or quotes of anyone related to your search query can be found, literally anyone! The search results will however be following a hierarchy of display. News from trusted websites will be posed first, followed by the news from friends and family and last would be trending quotes, phrases or anything else by the strangers. So, maybe we should take a moment and try it out ourselves. We as the user’s can now enjoy searching by staying within Facebook or its apps without having to switch to a search engine such as Google. As of for now, there is nothing very noticeable about the search. Anyways, if it works as it is expected to, it will not only pose a threat to many search engines, it will also become the strongest platform on the internet that deals with the majority of internet traffic.
