Internet safety is breached again as the malicious codes make it to the App store. Both iPhone and iPad users in China were affected due to the malicious codes that sneaked into the App store. For those of you, who taught the Apple Inc.’s App Store is safer, this is definitely a bad news. The malicious codes had the ability to drain all kinds of user information and pass it on to the hackers. More than three hundred apps were infected with this malware.

The virus is believed to be a modified version of Xcode, which dramatically resembles to be one of the versions of Apple’s software that creates the Mac apps as well as the iOS apps. Although, malware attacks have become a common norm, nobody would’ve imagined that such a major thing could happen to Apple’s software outlet. Taking everybody by surprise, Apple becomes the latest malware attack victim.
Apple Inc. quickly sprang into action with an attempt to remove all the infected apps after a couple of cyber security cells outlined the malicious program that was hiding under the name – XcodeGhost. However, the malware has caused too much information breach by then. Apple has ready set policies for handling problems of this sort. The researchers, however, claim that five malware attacks have been faced by the App store till date, although nothing was as crucial as this one.

Key Rider indicates that about two-fifty thousand owners of the iPad and iPhones were attacked last month and all their personal information was leaked. Now, this calls for the company to be more careful about their review policy. For it to be maintaining a reputation against its competitors like Android by the Google Inc. or Windows by the Microsoft corporation, Apple needs to stay a put with their consistency of review policy.

The very famous App, especially to the Chinese consumers- The We Chat by Tencent was one amongst the infected apps. There has not been any update on the users affected by the malware as the numbers continue to grow. Apple is working with Palo Alto and putting an effort to determine the out-turn of the security breach. The exact number of apps inflicted with the virus is not revealed by Apple. Let us believe that Apple will address the problem soon with appropriate solutions, till then let us not download any Apps in the App Store. Prevention is always better than cure.
