Live streaming is quite happening in the social media platforms these days. Facebook mentions and live videos are already a big hit. Twitter has also announced its live streaming facility. You can now live stream with twitter using its platform integrated live streaming facility of the periscope. The new functionality is open to all the Android as well as IOS users.
Apart from uploading videos and pictures to your tweets, now you can also get live on twitter through periscope. Periscope was acquired by Twitter earlier this year and many cases indicate that a committed button is being tested within a small group of Android users for the sake of live streaming.
The company has also tweeted about it. This initiative is to drastically improve the user engagements, however the feature is facing severe rivalry from Facebook as its live streaming feature has already taken off with a better pace. Facebook also has a lot more monthly engaged users when compared to Twitter. Twitter has a few million users where as Facebook has about a billion. Nevertheless, this can be considered as a brilliant effort by Twitter.
So if you are a periscope user, you can now broadcast your live videos straight away from Twitter. This is not much of a good news to the live streaming fans who haven’t installed the periscope app yet. If you have the app, then all is well and good. Adding to the convenience of the Twitter users, the app can also be directly downloaded via a dedicated Twitter button. In the past few months Twitter has put in a lot of effort to increase its user base. It has already announced that soon its one hundred forty character limit wouldn’t apply to images and URL links in the tweet. It also rolled out an update that lets the users flag online bullying.
To conclude, for now periscope lets its users embed the link of their live broadcast on the micro-blogging website. The users can choose the broadcast to be public or available to preset users only.
