(Woot, Woot!)
The new 360 videos makes the otherwise videos look so old school. If you have views of all 360 degrees of a scene recorded, you have a 360 video. People viewing a 360 video can view a scene from many angles. The angles can be changed by tilting your device if they are portable or by simply clicking or dragging to the desired angle. A couple of social media platforms already support this, like YouTube and Facebook. Sooner this year other social media giants like Instragram and Twitter is also believed to be facilitating this. Facebook however, may not have rolled out this feature to everybody, as it is new and will take time to spread around. So, if you can’t yet, keep up with your patience as its going to be worth it.
To record a 360 video you need a special camera capable of recording 360* 180 degrees around the scene. There are quite a few 360 cameras and VR tool available today and some of them are quite overrated.
Luckily, we have the Cardboard from Google, that works great for Android users. The fun part is you can either get it from Google or fold one for yourself. The cardboard is a virtual reality viewer tool that will unravel a whole new range of applications along with different viewing options. It also allows easy embedding of 360 videos into your website or App. Software developers can greatly benefit from this, all they have to do is add a few lines of code for a 360 image or video. Cardboard Software development Kit may also be made available for the IOS although uncertainties persist.
