The cool new wearable by Google known as the health tracker looks just like a smart watch, although it functions differently. This wrist wearable is said to track down the disease, even before you get it, now that makes it a “WOW-gadget”. The gadget is designed for the lifestyle at present where people do not have time for their health checkups. It has to be worn like a watch throughout the day and it tracks heart rate and rhythm along with the skin temperature. It adjusts in accordance with the light exposure and environmental conditions to give accurate results. Furthermore, blood pressure can also be observed.
After the projects like self driving cars and delivery drones, this is the next big project of Google X (life sciences team of google). Although the device is still under medical and other testing phases, the team hopes it to be soon prescribed to the patients. Also, the team is venturing combination of other wearables like the lens that records blood sugar and nano particles for advanced detection and more.
However, this device can only be bought and used with a prescription from the doctor in order to track the patient’s condition all day long, which will in turn give the pattern of the disease’s progress. Many of the doctors are already advocating for this amazing device, as they believe this will help in early detection and better diagnosis. Doctors are also hoping it to help them in their research works.
So it is not something most of us will get to wear until and unless we have a prescription from the Doctor. After building in some more useful functionalities, the device will have to go through additional testing phases before it could proceed seeking an approval from the authorities of regulation in the Europe and the US.
